Dave Freer's Mankind Witch
« on: May 08, 2018, 08:08:51 AM »

I stranded after the first dozen pages or so. Anyone have the same problem? (Mind you, Feist's Magician got me hooked after a page or four.)

First time I read a book by Dave Freer though. Perhaps this is the wrong one to start with?

Honestly, I think that is a strange book and series to start with. The series is written by three different authors, Mercedes Lackey, Eric Flint and Dave Freer. A Mankind Witch is the third book with a few already established characters and then shifts to some new ones. Its also the only one written by just Freer.

Picked it up for 20 cents along with a bunch of other books. Hence the weird start.

I had a second attempt in the meantime but Freers solo writing style is not for me. I will give it another go if I bump into part 1 in the second hand store.
