Yeah...i've been following this news. I'm still a little baffled as to why they won't just call it X-box 2, I will be anyway. It looks okay, and the word going about is it's going to soak up the early release ahead of the PS3 and knock Sony back a bit. :D Improvements have been made, and although I love my current X-box, this one is on my christmas wish list and it'll be replacing the original. :D Very promising as well with all the new games coming out. I think my friends are even going to buy this and their 'allegiance' is with Sony. :P

from what i saw, the graphics are just so amazingly powerful that it made me think they were just showing the footage theyd taken of reality and were adapting to the 360 itself...but no it was in game footage.... cant wait til i can play it thats for sure.

I read a review of this a while ago, and a guy was saying that he was worried about this X-box not being used to it's full potential like the last one. I just hope that won't be the case....

I saw the deal they showed here on MTV.  Not a whole lot on the technical side.   Actually, the show was pretty lame, but the footage they had from the different games was amazingly impressive.

I dont' know anything about what PS3 will be capable of, but I think this is going to be one console that will be able to seriously challenge PC gaming.

At this point, my PC is fast enough to do most of what I want to do, although I'm sure it doesn't have the power to play the latest games at decent resolutions.  Depending on the price of the new Xbox (I'm almost afraid to know, that could be the fly in the ointment with this one) I might seriously consider one of these instead of a future PC upgrade.

Unfortunately the X-box doesn't have any of the games I really like playing that aren't also on the ps2 or gamecube. Their x-box only titles are either available on PC, or just don't interest me. It looks like an impressive machine, but I won't be getting one. Sony and Nintendo release games that are geared towards my personal gaming tastes, but so far X-Box hasn't.

I do think that it'll sell well though. I think their advertising campain is much better this time around. So far I haven't heard them put down any other console, something they did a whole lot when the first X-Box was launched. I have to say, less intelligence insulting is good :D And if they're going to have TES : Oblivion that'll make me itch until its released on PC. That game...oh man.

You will see a lot more games released this time around for the new X-box than the last one. Expect to see a host of good games, and Sony not keeping up. :P

Incase some of you have been a bit in the dark, and haven't heard about the pricing for the 360....here are the details:

The pricing will see a 'core system' version of the machine (which comes with a wired controller, faceplate and standard AV cable) selling for £210. Meanwhile a £280 bundle will include:

A premium edition version of Xbox 360 (distinguished by metallic detailing)
20GB detachable hard drive
Wireless controller
Removable faceplate
Headset
HD-AV cable
Xbox Live silver membership (which will allow you to access new content from Xbox Live Marketplace, such as trailers, demos and casual games from Xbox Live Arcade)
Media remote (which will allow you to control DVD playback and music as well as access the controls of a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PC)

There will also be a slew of accessories available separately, including:

Faceplate (£15)
Standard controller (£25)
HD-AV cable (£20)
20GB hard drive (£70)
64MB memory unit (£23)
Wireless controller (£33)
Play & charge kit (£15)
Rechargeable battery pack (£10)
Wireless networking adaptor (£60)
Headset (£15)
Universal media remote (£20)
SCART AV cable (£18)
VGA HD AV cable (£20)

"With both Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 core system, we're offering consumers real choice and real value," reckons Peter Moore, who is (deep breath) the corporate vice president of worldwide marketing and publishing for the home entertainment division at Microsoft.

A firm UK release date for Xbox 360 has yet to be announced, with Microsoft currently just saying their next-gen console will hit shelves "this Christmas".

The pricing doesn't bother me too much. It'll make a nice present waiting under the tree. :D Hopefully waiting along with the new Quake game. :P

I have been keeping my eye out for the 360 for quite a while and can't wait for it to come out (mostly because of Oblivion).

Anyway I will deffinately be buying the 400 dollar package, as the core package would be just about useless for the game I have been waiting for.

Well it's set to be released next week (22nd) in some stores. Are you planning on getting it on release day (or asap), or are you waiting to find it under the Christmas tree (like me)? :P

I doubt I will be buying one, I looked on the Game website and the games are so expensive, most are £45 or over to start with. Considering a lot of the games are available on the PC for £25 and under I am sticking to PC gaming for the time being.

Perfect Dark is the game which could tempt me to re-consider, I would not get Oblivion on the X-box only PC, same with Call of Duty 2.

I will need to play the machine though to make up a final judgement.

Well I will not be getting the 360 yet, not until next year at least. I just got a computer so I do not have the funds.

In a year though I would have thought the price would have fallen quite a bit as by then the PS3 and Revolution will be out increasing competition.

Have you heard the rumor that Sony might be planning to screw themselves over on the PS3?

Man, people are going crazy for the 360.

Paying triple for it. It's not worth it.
