Anyone else seen this trailer?

I'm a sucker for CG/animated movies, but I think it looks pretty cool

Yeah, saw it, looks very good. However, I have a feeling everyone is going to be placing how good it is on the shoulders of Tim Burton since it has his name attached. Unfortunately most people won't recognize that he is only a producer.

It looks alright. I'll wait for it to come out on dvd, no doubt. Surprised it's coming out so soon (next month).

Personally, I think Tim Burton is a bit of a .... scene stealer? credit thief? I mean, everyone says that he did Nightmare Before Christmas, but he wasn't the director, he just produced and got his name stuck IN THE TITLE.

It does look like a good idea though. It's sort of funny, deviantart.com is doing a contest titled "create your own beast of 9" based on this (and yes, it's in collaboration with Burton and the big guys). most of the entries are crap though, at least so far. Considering that the first prize winner gets an XBOX 360, $550, various merch from the movie, deviantart shirt, and a 1 yr deviantart membership..... there'll be decent entries in soon.

So I was planning on going to see this tomorrow, only to find out my useless nearby cinema is not showing it. What the hell? Oh well. The film has received mixed reviews, so I'll just wait for the dvd, even though it is probably best to see it in the cinema.

District 9, it is, then. Probably for the best, considering how this has received mixed reviews, whereas District 9 has received nothing but great reviews.
