babylon 5
« on: September 15, 2005, 05:58:09 PM »

years i have followed star trek and skipped babylon 5 at that time...

now i have my revenge (must to late i'f you ask me)... babylon 5 is my first series to have on dvd, and I'm really happy about it...

Maybe, cause i'm older now, cause DVD is more easy to watch... Babylon 5 is probaly the greatest scifi opera i ever seen,  it was truly amazing, like one of a kind...

Season 1 = It's a not bad for a try out serie, i've seen worser, actually the end of season 1 it really starts...

Season 2 =  It gets very intresting, Science Fiction, Policitics, Drama, and a bit fantasy nearly like all genres I love to, the relation between G'Kar and Londo, President Clark, Sheridan...

Season 3 = The coming of Marcus Cole on of the coolest characters in Babylon 5, more intrigue, more action, and so on

And so i watched season 4 and 5 and some movies... I really love the series, someone shares the feeling with me, or do you think it's a horrible serie (wich i can't believe)...

I'f been a 'Trekkie' for many years, but with babylon 5, everything really changed

IMO the best Sci-Fi ever! In addition to all the TV & film material, I've also read all the B5 books. Simply awesome...

There was also a new movie in the works, titled The Memory of Shadows. But sadly this project is now dead.

I think there has been a topic on this a long time ago.

I am a long time fan and have the first 3 seasons on DVD. I have seen all B5 shows except legends of the Rangers TV movie which I will see soon. I loved the show especially season 3 and 4.

Crusade had potential if only TNT had let JMS do it his way.

Erod can you give some details about what happend with the movie and why it did not happen? if anything else happening in the B5 universe?

JMS's post regarding TMoS. Should explain it all. We (B5 fans) are quite used to disappointments after disappointments, I was half-expecting that this project would die and so it did... :-(

If you like games, you should check out The Babylon Project. It's a free (and stand-alone) B5 mod for Freespace 2. It uses the improved F2 engine by The Source Code Project. Really awesome. There are other B5 mods out there as well, like I-War 1 & 2 mods by Buda 5.

The FirstOnes.com website is a good source for anything regarding B5.

hey,

decided to resurrect a slightly older thread to avoid being beaten by an admin... ha, ha. as i've mentioned many times, i have the memory capacity of a rather forgetful goldfish... due to this all i can remember is i really liked babylon 5, but i have no idea why? here's my problem... i dont have much cash but ive saved enough for a wee splash on some box sets. i found babylon 5 series 1-5 for £17.99 each on choicesuk.com or cdwow have the complete universe boxset(1-5 + crusade + 6 movies) for £120... is it worth paying the extra £30 for crusade, it was cancelled after all, or the movies which don’t exactly get rave reviews from what i've read??? or... should i use the cash and buy 3 or 4 box sets of deep space nine from amazon for £32 each? even though i loved ds9, the whole dominion war etc. as far as i remember though the first two or three were distinctly average. any help/opinions/better prices anyone could give me would be much appreciated.

cheers,
jonathan

I would pay the extra 30 quid as a few of the movies are very good and Crusade had some excellent episodes, though it was cut short.

Though the box set does not include Legend of the Rangers I believe which can be bought for £10 I think.
