Elder Scrolls Online. The negative reviews from a few years ago got to me and I wasn't expecting much from the game, but it turns out that I am having a really good time playing it. I'll probably do a post about it soon.

I was going to ask about your experience with it, but I will now wait for that post.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - This is a linear western shooter with simplistic gameplay and a neat narrative gimmick that alters the story mid-mission based on people calling foul on the narrator's embellishments or piping up with a different version. The combat is about as straightforward and shallow as you can get: follow the path, choose a weapon, and shoot enemies in the face. It is a hell of a lot of fun. Plus, it only cost me a dollar.

Dark Souls - I've decided that I am too impatient for this sort of game. It wants you to pay attentions, learn, and react... and I want to rush forward and have fun. Unfortunately for me, dying over and over again is not fun. There is a sense of accomplishment when you do manage to beat a boss or get past a certain area that has been troubling you, but that is just not enough for me.

Far Cry 3 - The game looks great and is even fun after a while, but I had to first get around the awful story and the unnecessary crafting system that has been jammed in there for some reason. Whether that reason is to make it feel more like an RPG--if so, perhaps they should have linked skills with levels instead of missions completed--or to pad out the game's length, I don't know. Apparently, you can do some pretty crazy moves after a while, but I wouldn't know. I bought an assault rifle, upgraded it with a short scope and suppressor, and have been traveling the island ghosting outposts ever since.

Fallout 4 - I played a big chunk of this on PS4 and I was excited to get back into it on PC. Thing is, I've already played a big chunk of this and don't care to relive all the nitty gritty details a second time. I've found that the command console makes the game a much more enjoyable experience. Finally, I can feel free to wander around or get things done without weighing myself down every piece of trash that crosses my path. The downside to playing on PC is that it is a bit buggier than the console version, but who cares about little things like the game finally assigning an NPC duties hours after I placed the actual command and gave up?

Finished Dark Souls 3. Another great entry in the series, I need to go through Bloodborne at some point. I've been playing through co-op with a friend which has been really fun, but it makes things a bit easy in some ways.

I just started Skyrim. Off to a bad start. Very first time in game I was allowed to move myself, they told me to jump, so I did. And I killed myself.

I beat Fallout 4. The story, at least. There is still plenty of stuff left to do. It was both enjoyable and disappointing. The writing leaves much to be desired... especially options. Gorath called the game rigid when I was chatting with him about it and that is about the best word for it. The ending I chose allowed me to spin things in a direction that was more positive and hopeful, a chance at a bright future for the Commonwealth, but then the story just ended and nothing actually changed. Sure, I led the faction, but I couldn't actually do anything to lead or change the direction that the faction had taken up to that point. I was given fetch and kill quests, like I was a errand girl instead of the leader of the biggest, baddest, most technologically advanced faction around. Everything is the same. I can't reassure people that the choice I made was correct, that the faction had changed for the better. Instead, I am a just a monster who murdered a lot of people for the sake of the Commonwealth Boogeymen.
