The nearest I could come up with is the Muppet show which I use as a ringtone for my phone , why? because the last place I worked I always seemed to be surrounded by Muppets. :dwarf:

Well, I think

U2 - Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me

would suit me well, especially Kill me...   But I don't think it would be my main theme  :jester:

When i think theme song i think of one song only....My school song!! Sounds weird i know but there you go. When we watched school football games we would sing it loud and proud. When we're at parties we sing it loud and drunk and sometimes i just find myself muttering it to myself at random occasions. I don't know why its my theme song, nor can any of my school mates explain it. Our school, whilst being enjoyable, wasnt amzing beyond belief. Perhaps its mearly because the song accompanied us through our schooling period, a time when all these friends have been made. Anyway here it is. Strangly enough its in latin so perhaps Reux will be able to translate it for you...if you decide to do that Reax i apologise for the spelling as i am writing it by sound only

The Sub Tuam

Sub Tuam Preisiddium, confugimus confugimus
Sancta dei, genetrix, Sancta dei genetrix

Nostros deprecasionus, Ne despicia (LOUDER) NE DESPECIA
in nesesitatibus norstris
seid a periculus cunctis
Libera nos sempre, virgo glouriosa
e benidicta

Sub Tuam Preisiddium, confugimus confugimus
Sancta dei, genetrix, Sancta dei genetrix

Thats how it sounds. You sing the first stanza slowly, mournfully. The second stanza is louder and with power (The LOUDER part means you basically roar the nex two words) and the final stanza is sung with a whole lot of pace. If those people coming to the Meet Up  want a taste of it then i will sing it with pride!!

Please believe me when i say, this is how it has to be

Sleep is all i ask of you, sleep and not to wake again
See this through and leave my friends, tears will come and i will end.

Up All Night... dunno who. I loved it when I was a little kid... *giggles*

Okay, for the slightly more mature stuff:

Sorrow's Ocean ~~ Helen Trevillion ("Her every day is like a loss, same situations seen so many times before. For her the future's like the past: battered broken shattered torn.")

Prove It and Supersonic and Better Off Dead and Destined for Nothing ~~ Bad Religion ("There's no such thing as hell, but you can make it if you try." "I have to go supersonic, just to keep up with the human race." "Better off dead, you're better than this, a smile on the lips and a hold in the head..." "I'm destined for nothing, can't you see!?")

I Am a Rock, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Flowers Never Bend With the Rainfall ~~ Simon and Garfunkel ("I am a rock, I am an island. And a rock feels no pain. And an island never cries..." "When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all..." ((cuz my friends seem to think of me as the un-dark one)) "I am blinded by the light, of God and Truth and Right, and I wander in the night without direction...")

Midnight ~~ Jump ("Midnight's never dark enough to hide us from tomorrow; midnight's never dark enough to keep us in shadow...")

Uhh, yeah. That's it, for now.

Steve Miller Band - The Joker

Some people call me the space cowboy, yeah
Some call me the gangster of love
Some people call me maurice
Cause I speak of the pompitous of love

People talk about me, baby
Say Im doin you wrong, doin you wrong
Well, dont you worry baby
Dont worry
Cause Im right here, right here, right here, right here at home

Youre the cutest thing
That I ever did see
I really love your peaches
Want to shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
Ooo-eee baby, Ill sure show you a good time

Cause Im a picker
Im a grinner
Im a lover
And Im a sinner
I play my music in the sun

Im a joker
Im a smoker
Im a midnight toker
I get my lovin on the run

Im a picker
Im a grinner
Im a lover
And Im a sinner
I play my music in the sun

Im a joker
Im a smoker
Im a midnight toker
I sure dont want to hurt no one

Wooo woooo

Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al

A man walks down the street
He says why am I soft in the middle now
Why am I soft in the middle
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard
Bonedigger Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore

A man walks down the street
He says why am I short of attention
Got a short little span of attention
And woe my nights are so long
Where's my wife and family
What if I die here
Who'll be my role-model
Now that my role-model is
Gone Gone
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All alone alone
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations

A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
The sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterlings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and Hallelujah!

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al

Less Than Jake - Al's War

Al said goodbye to his mom and dad for the first time in his life.
Tonight, he left the house and walked to the waiting car outside.
Yea, somehow he thought they'd never understand.
That nothing lasts, and he just knows that time,
is just spinning by, and life, is passing him by so fast.

Al said to me a few days ago that he just thought for the first time in his life.
He feels that the last few years were only a waste of time (only a waste of time)
Yes, it was always a compromise, of what he always felt inside.
His declaration, under the orange street light.

And sometimes I think, I'm the only one who feels like going nowhere's like giving up.
Sometimes I think, I'm the only one who feels like going.

Yeah-ah.

He was the one, who always did the right things.
He was the one who would always listen to everything they say.
But today, he's never going back. (Woah-oh-oh)

And nobody said, that there would be days like these,
there'd be days like these,
there'd be days....

And sometimes I think, I'm the only one who feels like going nowhere's like giving up.
Sometimes I think, I'm the only one who feels like going nowhere's like giving up.

...like giving up.
...like giving up.

...I'm not giving up.

I don't have a single theme song, it depends on the day and the mood, and unfortunately for those who don't know any Chinese, they won't be able to read half the songs on here. :P Here goes:

There are a few more that I don't remember right now, but that sums up most of the songs that make me ME. If you can read all that, and if you want to look the songs & lyrics up, then you'll be able to sum up my character. Have fun.

Btw, it took me a lot of effort to type all that Chinese up; IT WASN'T CUT AND PASTE! :D

I think you forget most of us don't have have chinese language support. Those characters look like empty boxes to most of us Elly. :P

A better way would have been to type it in a text box in a graphics prgram, save it as a picture and post the picture here.

I would have to say 'A Part Of That Class'. Which is a parody of the Little Mermaid song 'A Part Of That World', me and my friends wrote in Maths while we were supposed to be doing work. It's about being good at every subject but maths and being forced to do it even though you hate it. What makes it worse is that three of my friends are in advanced, while Im in general. The song talks about wanting to be good enough at maths to be a part of that class.

Look at their work,
Isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think,
That we’d try to compete?
Wouldn’t you think that we’d try,
Try to learn- anything?

Look at their room,
They’re so evolved,
How many nerds,
Can just one classroom hold?
But why can’t it hold just three more,
Three more General Students?

We’ve got awards and certificates a’plenty,
We’ve got merits and medals galore,
You want diligence awards?
We’ve got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal.
We want more.

We want to be where the Advanced students are,
We want to see,
Want to see them working,
Doing their sums on those…
What do you call them?
Oh- Calculators.

HSC General,
Won’t get us too far,
Advanced is required,
To impress employers,
They sit in class and do…
What’s that word again? Work

Up with the best,
Not with the rest,
Up where they get full marks in their tests,
We could achieve,
Wish we could be,
A part of that class.

How much we yearn,
Just to learn,
Out of our classroom.
What would we pay,
To spend a day,
Learning real Maths.

Betcha’ up there,
They understand,
How to do, quadratic equations,
Binomial, Trigonometric,
That’s Maths Advanced!

We’re ready to learn what they learn,
Asking our questions,
And getting answers,
What’s an abacus?
And how does it-
What’s the word?
Count.

When’s it our turn?
Wouldn’t we love,
Love to explore the Maths class above.

We could achieve,
Wish we could be,
A part of that class…

Another one is 'Copy The Answers', a parody of 'Waltzing Matilda' which goes something like this:

Copy the answers,
Copy the answers.
You do the work and I'll copy you,
And when the year's done I'll drop Mathematics.
So you do the work and I'll copy you.

i don't have a theme song that covers my life, but there are some songs that remind me of certain periods in my life. the last 2 years of highschool i had to ride my bycicle 30 minutes to school, and 30 min back, and i often had this song on repeat (and allmost always had the album on on wich it is). it's Slow Down from the band Nada Surf. awesome song, and the lyrics are good too... i'm always reminded  of those 2 years of highschool, wich where good years btw. here's the lyrics

Nada Surf - Slow Down

You see yourself sitting on top so self assured - happy,
But when your parents bail you out you somehow feel not free.
You're bored to tears in school, it's not like what you thought at all.
Trouble is not the answer. I know what you want to know:

Slow down;
Why you wanna move so fast?
Why you wanna walk so far?

I think I know what you want.

Your father toys with you hoping his evil game will win.
In order not to loose, the trick is not to play with him.
Anything good you do is added to your past - your wealth.
You'll need it all the day you finally choose to ask yourself:

Slow down;
Why you wanna move so fast?
Why you wanna walk so far?
Wait and find out who you are
And how you're gonna make it last.

Something's gonna change, now re-spell your name.
Tired of highs and lows, now derail your train.

And if this letter finds you lost and out of touch - lonely,
I hope you know by now you mean so very much to me

My theme song is the following atm: http://www.jasonwebley.com/lyrics/drinking.html

Why? Besides the fact I like drinking, I have been singing this one in estonia for quite a few times. And now my friends on skype want me to sing it again... I guess its a stayer

Anyhow, I sung a slighty different version, and only the refrain:

When tha cup, is full, drink up drink up,

It might be the last time we see, this cup.

If god wanted us sober,

He'd knock the glass over,

So while we still can, drink up, drink up.

laidadi laidada laidadidadiadadada...

hmm in the same category as yours Thant I've got a nice French song:

++English translation below++

Chevaliers de la table ronde
Allons voir si le vin est bon (X2)
Allons voir oui oui oui

-------------------------------------------------------------
translation (if there are any mistakes, do forgive me)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Knights of the round table
let us see if the wine is good
let us see yes yes yes
let us see no no no
let us see if the wine is good

If it's good if it's enjoyable
I'll drink it with plaisure

I'll drink five or six bottles
a girl on my knees

If I die I want them to bury me
in the cellar where there's good wine

My two feet against the wall
and my head beneath the tap

On my tomb I want them to inscribe
Here lies the King of drinkers

The moral of this story
is to drink before you die
-------------------------------------------------------

Nice one isn't it  but you can alwys replace "wine" byt "beer" as far as I'm concerned (I do live in one of the biggest beernations on earth )
