Just found out about a local brewer called Alfred's Brewery, that does a REALLY drinkable brew called Saxon Bronze. Damn it's good!
It was apparently voted Hampshire County's 3rd best ale at the CAMRA (CAMpaign for Real Ale) Winchester Ale and Cider Festival in 2012.

What's even better is that the brewery is just across town too. :)

Very oddly sweet, but good. Also strong (8.7%). Not my favorite of the dark/strong/winter category -- that would be Old Jubilation -- but still pretty damn good.

i'm posting this while drinking earl grey tea. O.o

Last alcohol I had was a couple bottles of Boulevard Wheat, which is bottled in nearby Kansas City. A friend who was with me at the time was talking it up as his favorite beer, but whatever unique taste he might have found in it... it tasted no different than Budweiser and that is far from a pleasant experience.

Had a 'Duvel' at the weekend, which is a tasty wee Belgian beer. Doesn't get much better! Need to see if I can find it over here.

Boulevard does some good stuff, yea!

...

I, er, kind of went overboard last weekend. Not bad overboard. But I went out drinking and dancing. The afternoon started at a local brewpub, where I got two glasses of their tripel ("Number One", 9.1% ABV). Then over to a cheap bar, got a Nitro-pour Milk Stout from Left Hand and Upslope's Pale Ale. Thennnnnnnn for a wee walkabout to wear it off a little, and to an Irish bar, where I ended up chatting with an Indian fella named Raj over a pint of Smithwicks. Then, finally, to a dance club, got a pint of Best Damn Rootbeer, and danced for like three hours.

Bicycled home, drank about two liters of water with a teaspoon or two of sodium bicarbonate, and was only a smidge hungover. (I also gained about five pounds that night).

Damn, it's good to be young. :P

Drank Angry Orchards "Summer Honey" it was good.

I had:

Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
Angry Orchard Green Apple
Angry Orchard Summer Honey
Angry Orchard Stone Dry
Angry Orchard Elderflower
Angry Orchard Hop'n Mad Apple

Of all of those, Crisp Apple and Summer Honey were the only ones I'd pay to drink again. Both were good, though I'd put Crisp Apple ahead of the other. Typically I drink Woodchuck, but I went with Angry Orchard for some reason. I think I'll just stick to the Woodchuck.

I also had a had part of a New Belgium Abbey Dubbel Ale. Part, because I thought it tasted awful and ended up pouring the rest down the sink. Beer just isn't for me, I suppose. Though, if I do have to drink it I can at least tolerate something like Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat. I know nothing about beers though and don't know why that is.

Yes, but it's a big deal that I could drink the cider because that somewhat narrows it down to an ingredient of beer that doesn't agree with me

I'm not the biggest fan of dubbels. I like tripels, because they're a bit sweeter. Dubbels taste too much like grain gone sour to me. Kind of musty.

Ciders are also lovely. There's a cider brewery near here that I should visit before I move.... I can't remember what it's called, but they do ALL cider. There's also a gluten free brewery in Boulder-ish ... most of the beer tastes really really weird, but they have a grapefruit millet based beer that's pretty good. If you need gluten free, Boulder is the place to be.

As for me....

Yes, I have fancy glasses in my kitchen.

Beer makes me rhyme apparently.

"Bumper Crop" Honey Ale for me. It's very very summery. It tastes like flowers (lavender in particular). Also Avery's Perzik Saison, which is lovely.

.....

Those are from about two weeks ago. Am currently in the post-drinking-too-much "never again" recovery period.
