I have had flu for the last few days so have been off work, not a nice experience but at least I have had some time to catch up on the TV shows I missed when I was in Egypt.
Still got a cough but should be well enough to work from home for the rest of the week.

Not too happy. Went out with the wife last night for dinner and got a frantic call form the kid(s) that a toilet is overflowing all over the floor and they can't get it to stop. Long story short, wet carpets, broken toilet, water coming from upstairs through the ceiling to our bedroom downstairs....

suck

Don't know why, but I decided to try basically every beer I had last night. So I'm predictably drunk, and... just ugh.

Edit: Alright now, pretty much.

I'm on my fall vacation. So far -- which is to say, for the last hour, or so -- it's proven to be awesome.
There's something very, very calming about knowing there's nothing you have to do, and all things you should do are small and spread over the next week.

So, today, relax.

The only thing I'm wondering is "How many goddamn turkeys is my mum gonna roast this year?" (she's on the second. She roasts, cuts, and freezes them. weird.)

had a presentation at school today. was a bit nervous for it, since i had to do it in english. doesn't sound too difficult you'd say, but i wonder how many of you ever don a indepth presentation in a foreign language. luckily it went okay for. now i'm heading back to bed to get an hour of sleep before heading to work. it will probably stay dry, so i don't have to work in the rain... yay!

For the last month I've been house sitting with my girlfriend in this awesome apartment right on the beach. It's pretty amazing. When I started uni, and didn't really know anyone, there was only one person from my major, Creative Writing, who was in my elective, an introductory English Language and Linguistics subject, a thirty-six year old English woman. We got to talking and it turned out she lived in the same area as me - so she started giving me lifts home from uni. Spending a couple of hours a week in the car together soon led us to be great friends, which has had its benefits - namely, this. She and her husband are quite rich so their apartment is great. They sort of just go all around the world doing stuff. They came to Australia so she could do the Creative Writing degree at my uni 'cause she didn't want to do one in America or England and with those two knocked out, my uni's course was the best in the world according to her haha. She's coming back in a couple of days, so I'll miss playing at being grown ups with my girlfriend in her house haha. They have a wall projector for a TV and a billion blu-rays which has been awesome. Ah well. back o being a pleb for me!

Bit weird going through all these old topics, as I trim the back.

I'm going to be at this for a while. Gah.

Give me gold buttons to cheer me.

Surprise! It's a Poper.

Wish I was coming here under happier circumstances.

I like reading my dodgy junk mail scams cos they are funny, however this one caught my eye:

Hello dear,

Dear with profound respect and humble submission,I got your contact in http://www.hallofworlds.net and I beg

I kinda stopped reading after that line and came here. I don't know what is going on here, but that's pretty unacceptable. Just letting y'all know, and perhaps I'll try to stick around ;) busy busy though...

other than that, and the ulcer under my tongue, I'm a happy Poper.

edit: seems I'm not alone in receiving this crap. I was sure there used to be protection against this sort of ****.

Hmm...that's a bit f**ked up. Messaged Syrion immediately, though he went to sleep about an hour ago. Sorry to see you come back due to that, Poper.

Edit: I find it strange, though, that the email used was the same one 'RalanBek' registered under and used today. And then changed, after I checked his profile. What's with that? I wonder...

Not making much sense of the 'from' or 'to' bit in your copied message, Poper. From one person, Pamela, to the same person?

So your e-mail handle is "pamela_mike004", Poper?

Nah, I agree that is really.. not good. Though, as GO's pointing out to me, that e-mail belongs to a certain new user here: RalanBek ... so maybe it's less malicious than that e-mail makes it look? Do we have anti-bot measures in place, anyway?

Still.

Means Poper/Myself/Others were listed as BCC from the person who sent the email. We can't see who else got the email, but they're still sent to others in a much less spam looking way than throwing all the names in the "to" section.

Also, this is a good way to send emails to lots of people, take em out of the "to", put em in BCC, makes it neater and shit.
