I thought the Dark Tower was o-k. But nowhere near as good as the books. Popcorn entertainment basically.
Last movie I saw was Black Panther. T'Chaka is one of my favourite superheroes, so I was looking forward to this movie. The soundtrack was boppy, the blend between African culture and science fiction was awesome. Also, T'Chaka and friends did not disappoint. I was impressed by Andy Serkis, who aged quite a bit since his Gollum days, but showed he is a damn good actor, not just for motion-capture. Martin Freeman's was so-so. Lupita Nyong'o and Letitia Wright did much better! <3
The movie is unfortunately heavy on afro-american racism and segregation problems. So the movie is reduced to the colour of skin and how problematic that is in the United States, while the movie had all the ingredients to be so much more. Only because the US has a problem and Hollywood has to make statements. Sigh.
Oh well, at least this was the last movie before the upcoming finale.
Bring on the Infinity War!
