I almost watched all of National Lampoon's Tv The Movie. My god, it was horrible. The best way I can describe it is: The randomness of Robot Chicken, except live action, with nudity, and not a single funny moment throughout. Seriously, don't buy this, don't rent this, and if it comes on cable, don't even turn to that channel, avoid this movie at all costs!

Which also reminds me...when the hell is National Lampoon going to actually come out with something worth watching? There have only been two movies that I even slightly enjoyed, and that was Van Wilder and Going the Distance, the rest have been absolute garbage.

Watched Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King Extended Edition once more, a good four and a half hours out of life, but hey, it was worth it

Watched:

My Super Ex-Girlfriend - Had a few decent laughs, but nothing special.

Running With Scissors - Well about 20 minutes of it at least. About the time the main character says he is gay and wants to have a hair empire, at which point I discovered that it wasn't my type of movie...that and it is supposedly a comedy or is supposed to be funny at least and there wasn't one laugh to be had in the time I watched it.

Flyboys - A pretty good movie, a lot better than I expected. However, my dad said he hated it, not only hated it, but "Was the dryest movie I have seen in 20 years."  Okay, I highly doubt that, but oh well. I tend not to take his word for it, as he rents those horrible B-movies avidly and tends to enjoy them far more than any person should.

i watched crash, which despite not know what the hell it was about i still enjoyed.

and taladega nights. it's been awhile since a movie made me laugh so hard. i was in tears in some parts.

my favourite lines were "shut up ya little pot licker, i'll stick you in a microwave"

and "we'll pry it out with the other knife"

also watched thank you for smoking about a week back... it was ok in parts bt very overrated. on the cover it said funniest movie since 4 year old virgin. wasnt even close. but it had its moments

I watched School for Scoundrels, which was an all right movie, it had a few hilarious moments, and quite a bit more than any of the other "comedies" I have rented recently. Not a big fan of Heder, Napolean Dynamite made sure of that, but I guess he was decent in this one, at least he wasn't playing a moron, like he has in every other movie I have seen him in.

Watched The Departed as well. It was a pretty damn decent flick, though a bit slow. The ending was a bit of a surprise, although it seemed as if it ended abruptly, mostly due to an unresolved plot point. If you have seen it then you know what I am talking about (if you don't, it concerns the envelope and the psychiatrist). Its one of the few movies I've seen recently that I wouldn't mind seeing again. It's about two and a half hours, so a bit longer than the average movie, but it shouldn't be much of a problem unless you have a short attention span.

I read online they might do a prequal for the Departed. I defiently want to see it again as it was a great film.

A few nights ago I watched the film "United 93" it was a good film which captured the horror the people on the planes must have gone through.

Watched Invincible with Mark Walhberg. Meh, it was okay, I don't know how in the hell it managed to get 70% over at rotten tomatoes, it definately wasn't that good. After it ended I was completely underwhelmed...it didn't even feel like a whole movie. It kinda felt like they ran out of time or money halfway through the movie and decided to just end it and tell you what happens (via the standard text/clip segment of course).

Hell an extra half hour could have done wonders. There was all this build up about him getting on the team and playing, but in the end we see a tiny part of one game and a quick run-through of another. Hell, there is more time spent watching the team do drills then there is watching them play football, which is just amazing seeing as how it is a football movie.

At 2 hours and 8 minutes it is pretty damn bad to feel like it still wasn't complete.

Night at the Museum and The Illusionist.

First one was funny, second one was refreshingly good.

I rented The Grudge 2.  I can't even explain how terrible it was, so I won't.

I also rented Flags of our Fathers.  It was pretty good and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  I'm (hopefully) going to see Letters from Iwo Jima this weekend with my dad.

I watched "The Good Shepard" tonight, it is a good film with Matt Damon about the starting up of the CIA and seeing how one mans life is swallowed up by the Agency. The film is directed by Robert Deniro who also stars in it, Angelina Jolie plays Damons wife in the film.

I just finished watching "The Inconveinent Truth" by Al Gore. Some of the evidence is very shocking. I believe in the whole Global Warming issue and try to be Green anyway but if some of the predicted stuff comes to pass it would be VERY bad for a lot of countires not least the Netherlands (there was a video of it going mostly underwater in the film)

I watched Blood Diamond today, I was very impressed. This movie has some great action scenes, some amazing scenery of South Africa (though set in Sierra Leone) and is very moving as well. It was good to see the film makers not shying away from the terrible things people did back in 1999. I was very impressed with Leo and Djimon Hounsou (also in Gladator), some people have said Leo's accent was not very good but I have heard the South African accent quite a lot and thought it was a decent try. I would defiently recommend this film and I hope it is nominated for an oscar or two.

Edit -

ACADEMY AWARDS NOMINATIONS FOR BLOOD DIAMOND
Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio
Supporting Actor: Djimon Hounsou
Editing: Steven Rosenblum
Sound: Andy Nelson, Anna Behlmer and Ivan Sharrock
Sound Editing: Lon Bender
