Watched The Prestige. Tell you the truth, it wasn't all that interesting. This might be because I read a complete synopsis of the movie before it ever hit dvd, although it has never ruined a movie for me before. Either that or this movie has little or no rewatch factor, and I am more apt to believe that. It was surely an interesting story, but I guess once you already know it there is no real reason to go through it over again.
Yeah its a bit hard to convey my thoughts there. The acting wasn't that bad, nothing that made you grimace in pain or anything, but it wasn't great. It was the timeline of the movie that kind of bothered me, it seemed to jump back and forth between moments in the story, which I guess is viable since most of the movie is read from a diary, but it doesn't make for a good presentation.
Watched Beowulf and Grendel, which was supposed to be a pretty good rendition of the tale. It wasn't. In fact it was incredibly boring, so much that a quarter way through it I got on the computer and pay limited attention to it. It supposedly didn't use any CGI for the action, and its probably why it looks like a horrible B-rated movie. Grendel, is now a giant human, and his mother is a nasty looking hag who lives in the water and apparantly snatches sailors out of their boats. She doesn't make an appearance until after Grendel has been injured either. Oh and Grendel has a son, too, with a human woman, who Beowulf is f****** on the side as well. I couldn't get into the movie, the dialogue was pretty bad (less Old English more cuss words was the rule for the film I guess), the acting was on par for a bad sci-fi channel film as well as the presentation of it. Do not watch this.
