What movies have you watched recently?
« on: July 25, 2004, 09:42:26 AM »

Yes, I'm bringing it back. Only because I watched two movies last night at my friend's house and they were good and I want to share them :D I watched Shrek 2 and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (Aussie classic!). Shrek 2 was good... it wasn't as good as the first one, but not as horrible as some people claim it to be. So many rip-offs though! Though I must say the Lord of the Rings one did make me laugh (when the ring falls from the air onto Fiona's finger). Puss in Boots is an awesome character as well. Go Antonio Banderas! And Priscilla: Queen of the Desert... that's just damn funny. I will never, ever take Hugo Weaving seriously again. How the hell can I watch Lord of the Rings without imagining him suddenly ripping off his robe to reveal drag-queen garb underneath and breaking out into an ABBA song? But the movie was hilarious... never take Guy Pierce seriously again either for that matter.

And that's me. So... what movies have YOU watched recently?

Top movie finding nemo, BUBBLES!
Well I got a whole lot of Dvds in the last week or so including Pulp fiction, 2fast 2 furious, pirates of the carribean-I wish people still talked like that "wouldya be wanting fries with that aaghrr", Spaceballs I was real dissapointed with this one i have heard so many ppl talk bout how funny it is but I didnt find it very funny not even john Candy could save that movie, and a movie called Harley Davidson and the Malborough Man this is a good movie but not great the reason I bought it though was for sentimental reasons, it was the first movie I ever saw at the cinemas.

oh and Turner and Hooch was just on Tv, I love that movie.

Didn't really watch a movie last nicgt but the first DVD of the 1st Babylon 5 season Now that I started that I'll have to continue.
The last movie I saw was Shrek 2 and I really liked it a lot. And I think it's as good as the first one.

Watched Shrek 2! Great film!

Also Daredevil - kindda corny!

And Deep Impact again last nite - That film should come with a health warning! Panda eyes afterwards! I dont think I've ever cried so much at a film! :(
Oh, wait, hang on, yeah I did, Dumbo! That should also have a warning! And the Lion King, and The Last Samuri, and Titanic, and LotR, and Rob Roy, and Braveheart, and I think I'm a soft arse when I watch movies so I'll shut up now!

Anywho, cant wait to see King Arthur, even though its been slated!

Lol Vorz, it's almost impossible for me to cry in a movie. I think I've only ever done it once. But no shame in getting into a movie so much you cry! Just means you've gotten more from the experience ;) And I'm not sure if I wanna see King Arthur... my friend told me about the incredibly warped mythology and hollywood-ization, and now I'm a bit put off...

Cen: I cry at any movie! I'm soooooo soft whenever I watch movies!  <_<

As for King Arthur; I bet they've ripped the Arthurian Legend to shreds, so I'm a bit worried about going seeing.   Especially as thats what I'm studying, I'll just be sat there going 'Where the FREL did they get that from?'
But, you've gotta remember that its a Hollywood movie - NOT a documentary! If I go in thinking that I'll probably enjoy it! :D

Watched BulletProof, starring Adam Sandler and Damon Waynes or whatever his name is. It also has a Bull Terrier in it, best dogs ever and best movie ever. VERY VERY FUNNY!

hmm. saw King Arthur, and i was disappointed. It was okay in the beginning, but afterwards, especially the end was boring.  <_<

His older stuff, such as BulletProof is alot funnier then his recent crap. He lost it with Big Daddy and its just gone downhill since then.

I know what you mean  It can take the fun out of a movie if they drift away too far from the original - and it's especially bad if it's a historical thing IMHO
