The best things happen when drinking.

I'm still around.

Hi Aldiran,

Welcome back. There's still some regulars visiting and I have brushed the place up a bit over the last year. There's more to do but IRL is getting in the way a bit. ;)

Congrats on your wife and kid. It seems you moved abroad? If you want a name change, let me know.

It's not really a feist fan forum anymore but SFF with a large historical section on Feist. ;) Since most of those still visiting moved on and Feist finished the riftwar cycle. But if you got something to discuss then you are more than welcome to!

D.

Ps: don't forget bookmark us. And we're also on Facebook.

And I just realized that my username is "Ben"...    I used to go by "Aldiran" if anyone remembers that name. :)

Hello everyone.  I'm not exactly sure what made me look up the Hall of Worlds again, but somehow I got a hankering to see if it was still around.  Actually, here was the line of thought:
Thinking about web development
Realizing how far it's come in all these years
Thinking about Microsoft Frontpage
Thinking about how Syrion used to code in Notepad
Thinking about how I used to build sites in Frontpage, then delete all the spaces to look like I made it in notepad so he wouldn't notice...

Search for Syrion and HoW and bam...here it is, like 17 years after I first made my crappy Hall of Worlds fansite...

I love that the image smileys have never changed at all.   :jester:

So I'm 34 now...  I made the first Hall website when I was 17, so you can imagine that it's blowing my mind that you guys kept it going.

Not sure why I'm posting...  drank quite a bit and it's 12:45am and my 3 month old and wife are asleep in the other room.  It's just pretty surreal.  Hope everyone is doing very well.

With my job going away in a few months, I have been forced to start looking toward the future. As much as I hate to do it, I'm going to try and get back into a management position. I have taken and passed the supervisor tests and have put in for any customer service supervisor and Front End Zone Supervisor positions that might open up. I've done the former. Not confident that I'd even get a chance for the latter.

It isn't something that I want to do because I am not fond of management, but I've no interest in working anywhere else in the store and both would give me a good pay raise. Given that I started drinking heavily the last time I was a supervisor, a pay raise will probably be needed to cover the expense of starting again.

Nah Baz, you and GO are all the hipster that I can handle.

On a different note, GO would be pleased to know my phone keeps autocorrecting him to god.

They have a free book of the day, everyday, but I haven't found one yet that I've absolutely loved. The few that I have started die off after a few pages because I haven't bought any. Pretty hard to read because they are unchanged from how they were written over 100 years ago.

I was thinking that a large part of the enjoyment comes from the characters, their friendship and humour involved. It makes the reading light. Also it contains a fair amount of mostly original monsters.
