Here's a quote from a random member of the public on how the Logo is supposed to represent us as a nation.

[!--quoteo--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]Fragmented, cracked and with pieces that don't fit. I'd say it symbolised Britian today perfectly.[/quote]

I fear it's too true.

I was also hoping the 400 thousand pound figure was a rumour but it appears it isn't. It's a shocking waste.
I want my 5 year old lad to have a go! he could do better.

[!--quoteo--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]namely to inspire young people around the world through sport and the Olympic values.[/quote]

[!--quoteo--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]jagged, unreadable, appears-as-though-it-were-done-by-a-2-year-old logo[/quote]

I was wondering how young the people were that they wanted to inspire, because honestly it looks like a design that would be used on a tv show aimed at toddlers.

We should do something fun for the olympics. Personally, my atheltics knowledge is distinctly poor, but someone around here must know their stuff. We could do a prediction thing and everything. Perhaps even give out a prize or two? Only thing I'd be able to do is create a banner or something like that. And I need to get another copy of photoshop before I think about that.

GO it is well over a year to the next Olympics, I like you thinking though. Some type of prediction game would be good.

You mean it hasn't been a wash out with the rain so far? The mind boggles!

Couple weeks to the summer Olympics begins in Beijing. Anyone going to be paying close attention to the proceedings? Think I might be cheering for team USA this year...weird.  :elf_gloop:

I probably will but I think I'll be paying more attention to the non-track and field events, cycling, rowing, sailing etc. Tips are that Britian might do well in these.

We get regular track and field with the euro and british championships, indoor AAA etc but unless you know where or when to watch there's not much around for the other Olympic sports.

Ditto, I will defiently be watching some of the Olympics. Probably the highlights programme on the BBC website.
The UK has a chance to do well in a number of events (especially Cycling and Sailing), so it will be a more exciting games this year
Bring it on  :soldier:

Anyone watch the Ricky Hatton fight last night. It was pretty impressive stuff from Hatton. He made light work of Paulie Malignaggi. It's going to be interesting to see if he fights Oscar Del La Hoya next year.
