Val stood up in the pit and brushed the sand off his cloak. He flicked his hand and out came the monkey with a handkerchief to wipe the blood from his nose. Then he grabbed the edge of the elevated floor with one hand and in an agile fashion swung himself up. He twitched his left shoulder, then his right shoulder, finally bent his hands forward and backward. He turned to the side where the young Gorath was sitting and imbibing himself, still full of himself and the pride he took from what he thought was a great victory against a lad that much taller, older and heavier-built than himself. Val decided that he wouldn't spoil the boy's moment of joy and tell him that he'd not shown off his full skills as off yet ... he still remembered how important it had been on his own confidence when he had won his first few fights against his teachers. Instead he nodded at the boy and said, "Not bad ... for a youngster. You sure have the talent." He blew a stray lock from his face and jerked his head back at the pit. "Go and pick the blade if you want. If you're fighting in the squad you might just as well have use for it. I've got another anyway."
He turned straight again and was headed for the bar where the petite auburn barmaid was still smiling at him, knowingly. He smirked back and motioned toward her directly. Knowing what the question would be he just fidgeted around with his goatee and said pre-emptively, "Val." Struck at his directness, she blushed and shyly tried to catch her word, until she managed to whisper, "Kyra". Val just grinned and brushed another stray lock behind his ears. "Alrighty then," he paused briefly as though it were hard to get the name right. " - Kyra ... you wouldn't mind pouring me a pint of ale after that exhausting fight, would ya?" She looked up at him and had to surpress a giggle, and then proceeded to pour a keg from the draught. He made another, slightly arrogant, and unnoticable to all but himself and her, jerk of his head directed at Gorath and murmured, "Oh, and bring the kid one as well. He's probably not had his first evening of drink, and he's clearly deserved it," adding a somewhat mean grin to it. He pondered a second whether he should motion her to possibly join them, but the weight was taken from his shoulder when she said, "I'll bring them over to the table." He winked and motioned towards the table to sit down near the others, when he realised that Darkon was staring into his direction, grinning broadly. Val shrugged. "What?!"
[[OOC: Kyra isn't that easy. Well, she isn't complicated, for granted, so I guess she is a little easy. She isn't that easy otherwise though, she's just a little interested in Val, that's why she's that co-operative that far. She'll get a little more cheeky as the evening progresses. Oh, and why did I make her interested in Val? Well ... she wasn' taken yet, and remember - we can play the NPCs at our disposal. ]]
