Anagrams in Midkemia?
« on: August 15, 2005, 09:56:44 PM »

I'm reading "Shards of a Broken Crown" again and had a moment of insight (or maybe not).  Take the character's name:

Malar Enares

It can be rearranged to:

Snare a realm

...which is appropriate.  Anyway, is there any evidence this is intentional?  I searched the site for anagram and didn't see any others.... do other people have relevant anagrams for character names?

Thanks,
Mark.

When I see a new name in books I usually scan it for anagrams. Jut to be sure. Though I never find any.

I have no idea if this is intentional or not because I think it says Feist didnt create that character, someone else did, so that person could have done that on purpose.

Enares was a character created by a contest winner inserted into the books, not a creation of Feist.  To my knowledge as well, there are no anagrams.

Here is a link to theFeistfans-L FAQ, where you will find the bit about contests (it's a direct link to the entry)

Appears he was created by Sean Tate. No idea if it was meant to be an anagram, but it is interesting that on the FAQ, the name is spelled "Malarr"

Who knows? Maybe someone should post this to the Feistfans-L list?
