Design a Valheru
« on: February 25, 2007, 09:35:27 AM »

Scintillating colours appear in the air.  Then, as if by two giant hands, the very fabric of space and time is torn, an ever widening gap through which he can see.  Beyond this fracture in the air, a vision of chaos is revealed, a mad display of energy, as if all the lines of power in the universe are torn asunder. Bolts of energy sufficient to destroy suns explode in displays of colour beyond the ability of mortal eyes to describe, leaving them dazzled with lesser lights.

Excerpt from-page 496 Magician-Raymond E Feist

Dont know if this has been done before, but what im looking at is seeing the following questions answered.

If you were a Valheru, how would you dress, what type and colour armor would you wear, what type and colour weapon would you weild,  what colour dragon would you ride, would you follow in the footsteps of Draken-Korin and Alma-Lodaka and create animal servants and what animal would they be, where in Midkemia would you call home?

Dont forget to name your creation and have some fun!!

Arget-Treyar-Ruler of the Blackwood

Armour:Black chain mail and helm, sleeveless blood red tabard with the image of an old black dragon in flight on the front with a black cloak and shoes to finish it off.

Weapon:Red thirsty looking broadsword.

Dragon:An ancient black, very mean looking.

Animal Minion:NIL i would stick to my pretty moredhel females.

Stronghold:Underground caves within a canyon in the centre of the Blackwood riddled with a mix of Eledhel scouts and Moredhel and the Eldar to look after my plunder.

It was in the past, but can't find the thread anywhere, so let's just assume it's gone and use this thread? *grin*

I'm going to think this one over a bit before I post my Valheru. I have some ideas.

Its all from our imagination Wolf,  and some of our imaginations are quite disturbing *points at Dinger

Good work on some of your descriptions guys.  And good work on your Valheru names too they sound rather realistic as Wolf has just proved.

Hmmm Some one has already used Wolves, so...

Name : Lonie-Lianlore, The Horse Lord

Armor: Bronze Chainmail and Half-Plate, Crested Helm with long horse tail plume, Shield and  tabard would be ochre red with gray Stallion rampant.

Weapons: long, viciously barbed, Lance for mounted combat with a Leafbladed "Bastard Sword".

Dragon: Copper/Brown, Sleek and fast.

Minions: Horses, Centaurs and other equine variations

Stronghold: Somewhere south/east near what will become the Vale of Dreams perhaps.

Weapon: Sharp teeth, sharp claws.

Followers: None. They would only be eaten anyway.

Home: Lake in Espoo.

Thana-Leant, the Druid

A cross between a bear and a man, he wears something that might be a hide armor, or his fur. His eyes are sylvan green and his clothing is darkgreen and brown. His weapons are his yaw and claws, yet he carries also  twin swords which burn with green flames.

Dragon: Green ( suprising ey?)

Followers: Sylvan creatures shaped like himself, a crossbreed between bears and humans.

Stronghold: In the forests of the Nortlands

Ralan Bek - just kidding

Lord Faith of Midnight

Armour: Not sure about this. I'd just like something dependable and give it a nice midnight blue colour for effect

Weapon:. Midnight blue bastard sword with my insignia upon it

Dragon: Silver, sparkly.  She'd be a huge, killing machine. Also, she'd be able to give me baby dragons...although I wouldn't personally plan to mate with her. That'd be impossible, i'd presume.

Animal Minion: I like the 'keep the hot moredhel females' idea. Woudln't mind having some wolves and dogs around too though. The wolves would probably eat all the dogs though...i'd need to teach them discipline!

Stronghold: Underground ancient keep in the middle of a forest somewhere.Preferably near a lake, as well. Oh and somewhere wide and expansive for my dragon to stay

Stronghold: Grey mountains

Given the established method for naming Valheru (namely, a two syllable word followed by a two or three syllable word) the last two posters fail miserably.

Additionally, "Lord of Dragons" is rather close to the existing title for the already established, Lyron-Baktos, "Master of Dragons".

While I realise we're using our imaginations to create our own Valheru, I think we should try to avoid poaching names/titles already found in the setting of Midkemia. Additionally, the names used should at the very least sound as if they are a Valheru name.

But hey, just my opinion. It's Althy's thread and thus up to him to stipulate any guidelines.

Good points Al, i wont stipulate any guidelines, it would be cool though if they were as real as possible...But im disappointed in peoples creativity, i have yet to see pink, sparkly or multicolored dragons yet.

You have to take into consideration the fact that this is just a forum, mainly male members, with people who mainly don't really give a toss because they have more things on their minds. The lack of creativity in a dragon or it's name is the last thing people will worry about...
