Ever tried to re-create anything from Rays books
« on: October 04, 2004, 09:32:31 PM »

I am being curious and wondering if anyone here has tried to re-create anything described in Ray's books, either by drawing a picture, sculpture, timeline, family trees, house banners, acting out a scene with friends etc ........

For me I have not done any of the above, but I have helped build the Hall of Worlds which mainly a universe spanning passage between worlds as well as being a minor web site on the planet Earth  :king:

BTW don't post about anything which would be considered illegal and break Ray's copyright.

Im walking around with a few ideas.

One of them involves Never Winter Nights, which has a great engine to recreate certain scenes. Which you could actually replay in multiplayer or single player.

Well...I've used Midkemian names for game nicknames before, in tribute to my favorite characters :)

I have used 2 last books in the serpentwar saga is a 6 months ad&d pen&paper rpg session. None of the others in my group has read much of Feist, only the first saga maybe.

Spoiler: show
It was really fun to watch how they came up with ideas for defending off the invasion fleet from Novindius, the retake of the continent, rebuilding of Krondor etc.
I used other names to prevent them knowing, and its been one of the most successfull campaigns hehe.
It was ALOT more magic involved though, since the basic was of the AD&D 2nd ed rules, but lots of fun hehe.

I painted a landscape that comes from refs books, but I don't know wich one annymore  :elf_gloop:
It's a high cliff with a few houses on the top and a sea underneath it. It looks pretty nice I think.

Did anyone ever made that replication of Krondor with matches?  :jester:

Personally I never did anything (yet) with Feist work.

Darkon how far have you got through the books yet, I remember a few weeks ago you saying you where on Prince of the Blood.

Making that replica of Krondor would be very very hard I reckon  :elf_gloop:  :elf_dead:

Well, inspired by Feist books, I once had a meal of plain brad, cheese, and cider (didn't have any ale).  It was actually pretty good

The King's Buccaneer if you wish to know. Hard to make a replica? Not sure, I think you start with the actual drawing of the city itself. Which I wonder about, did anybody ever made a drawing of the city, like they did for Tolkien's ones?

Probably a screenplay.

Darkon, there was a map of Krondor in the game Return to Krondor which has quite a good overview of the city.

Coe is indeed correct, well, I have written a few pages to try and get the feel of it in script form. Havn't worked on it in a while.

I've drawn a few things in the margins of my notebooks, and recreated the BAttle of Armengar on Age of Empires II.

I went to the Imperial games and rained down fire out of anger at the treatment of the midkemian slaves...
