Feist currency
« on: December 18, 2005, 01:32:23 AM »

My mind seems to have forgotten certain details. So I was wondering if anyone knew the kind of currency(if he specifies, or just says "gold coin" etc.) that Feist uses in his books. Thanks.

well, i would think that the kingdom as the same currency trough i'm forgotten the name, and probaly kesh has another currency system, about the eastern kingdoms i'm not sure, trough i only readed talon of a silverhawk yet... about novindus i'm not quit sure i think with serpentwar sage,  the kingdom currency system was wightly used, since many mercenery's there were from the kingdom ?? right...

In Keluwan they should have a system in tsurani empire, and probaly a barter or might even a money system in the highlands...

but probaly someone can say this better than me and i'm getting tired...

Yeah in Betrayal at Krondor Gold sovereigns and Silver Royals are used. 10 silvers total 1 gold.

The golden coinage of Roldem is the dolphin, and is said to be of higher value than the Kingdom sovereign (hence heavier)

yeah mentions that in rise, that there is an agreed upon worth which is just the weight of coins to each nation if that makes sense

Hmm...

Gold Sovereigns
Silver Royals
Copper...

Yes, there is also the Roldem coin... not sure, but I think that it was worth more, and they were weighed at some point. I think that it ended up being like a gold and two silvers or somehing.

Most other places use the same size coins I think. I think it's different in Kesh, but we're talking Keshian merchants; they'll accept anything.

In Novindus at the latest date (conclave) they are using...shells, was it? Well anyway, the use of coins has become almost obsolete due to the  effects of the Emerald Queen's war.
