Good morning/ day/ evening ladies & gents,

Does anyone of you recognize this picture:

From which book is this picture, is it like a cover or artwork or... ?  :king:
Is there a bigger version around,? I'd love to have it  :D

Hmm...I have no idea what that is for. How do you know it's related to one of REF's books?

It's a variant of the cover for Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb.

The artist is Michael Whelan (who's typically a pretty decent cover artist, but this pales in comparison to John Howe's work for the same series).

Amusingly, I'd never seen this cover before today. But it was pretty damn easy to track down. It was either Garion and Belgarath, or Fitz and Nighteyes. A no-brainer, really.

thanks a bunch Alrin, case closed I'd say :soldier:

I've never read anything written by Hobb, I will look into it asap.

Quite frankly I thought the man shown in the picture was drawn backwards (cloth wrapped around the head). As if he was from the desert (Kesh) or someone else from the Kingdom. Prince of the Blood sprung to the mind, but since there is wolf as well, doesn't make sense :iamwithstupid:

Thanks again.

No worries. For me, the wolf was the clincher. As I said in my previous post, the inclusion of the wolf immediately narrowed it down to two works. From there it was just a matter of working through the titles for each until I stumbled across the pic in question.

I should totally be a private eye. My deductive reasoning would put Scotland Yard to shame.

By the way, your sig is the coolest I think I've ever seen on the forum. Well apart from my own, of course. But, otherwise, pretty damn cool. Kudos.

You could be the next Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz, haha, best copper in the country ;)

Thanks for the compliment, it took me a while to alter it (text in balloon). I found a similar font and basically made a reference to the Gandalf -vs- Balrog fight :dragon_red:. I mean, everybody has to enjoy at least one "mighty brew" at Honest Johns right?
