Why not Kesh?
« on: December 01, 2004, 10:34:10 PM »

Most of the books focus on the kingdom of islands. Logical perhaps becouse the main characters are of its royal bloodline. And based around Krondor. But with matters growing more important than "petty problams of countries" it would not seem illogical that the role of Kesh should be expanded. After all Kesh is the most powerful country in midkemia (after pug). Do people agree with me on this or am i just rambling...

I heard enough in Prince of the Blood about Kesh to last me a lifetime. I don't have much taste for that country...I do like the way the women go about though. lol

I prefer krondor above kesh as well. But the fact remains that kesh is extremely important.

While PotB did give us a greater understanding of Kesh and by it's shear size it is certainly a major player on the continent.  It is interesting that, at least from the experiences of the characters we've followed, Kesh hasn't been all that active.

yeah I think he could get a lot more diversity in kesh I bet people play oboemaphones in kesh, I doubt you would find things like that in the kingdom, there are a lot of different ethnicities in kesh and I think it would make a very good series. perhaps like a kesh Vs the conferderacy or something.

i get the feeling that Kesh will be used a lot more in the coming series... either this one (conclave etc) or the one following that. I guess we will have to wait and see.

You mean the Darkwar Saga Gnore cause the Conclave Series is finished. But i dont really think that Kesh will be in the big Picture. There not that good of friends with the Kingdom and i only think that they will be around if there the ones being attacked.

I think that it si all a question of focus.

Spoiler: show

Magician starts with a focus on crydee, adn the western realm.

In the Serpent war Saga, its all about the Kingdom.

And maybe after it it will become about the whole world of midkemia?

I dont know, since I havent read anythign beyond the SerpentWarSaga.
