Ok, so what's the deal with this place.  I have read all of the Midkemia books, and their is little mentioned on it, other than the Serpant War thing and the Map in the Riftwar series.  Did I miss something???
Fill me in.
I saw the wiki page, and in piqued my curiosity.  Why isn't it used more.  Sounds like an intresting place!

Sorry Woody.. what I added to the Wiki page is all I know.
If anyone had any more info (perhaps some knowledge from the pen & paper games?) feel free to let us know.

If you do a search in the feist forum I am sure I have posted a topic on Winet before, I don't have the time now to look.

My cue.  :P

From the Feistfans Frequently Asked Questions:

"Will we ever see anything about Winet?

(The Continent of Winet) Wynet (with a tilda over the n, but most mailers can't handle that) will be mentioned in the last book of the Serpentwar Saga. There are no plans at present to use it for anything, because my friend Rich made it one crazy place. It's a continent split by a huge clifface (very much out of Harry Harrison's death-world series) and on the lower half, the Wynetians are pretty average folks. The Upper Half (The Ethel-Duath) is populated by larege repties (see where this is heading?) and misplaced Scottsmen. I can send the Saaur over there and explain how they got up on that huge grassy plain, but how that regiment of highlanders showed up is a bit beyond even my storytelling skills. The stuff you inherit from college students with too much time on their hands and too much beer. . . "

And that's that. XD

Thanks for the Feistfans post.
That does explain alot why it hasn't been used.
Large reptiles and missplaced Scotsmen.... WAY to much beer.

I bet they had fun though. :D Personally I would like to see Winet visited again in the books. I love reading about Pug and Tomas travelling far in short spaces of time, and a reason to visit Winet could become a good excuse. lol Although the only likely thing I can think of - is if they asked the Saur to help them fight during the next riftwar, but I doubt that will happen.

I dunno.
Spoiler: show
Midkemia is there world now, so maybe they would be content to help, since Shila probably isn't quite ready for them to move back to yet

Thats a good point you brought up Great One, it would be cool to see the Sauer fighting alongside the races of the Kingdom :D

Yeah, it'd be a cool thing to read, but I think there is about as much chance of that happening as there is for those Arutha re-born guys seeing him come back from Lims.

Hm
Spoiler: show
didn't the Saaur at the first place they took in Midkemia they tell Pug to hurry because if they would stay too long, they would see it as home and their own?
So I don't find it such a bad idea at all.

I think that there could be a reference to it in future books, but there will not be a large storyline built upon the idea.

I dunno,
Spoiler: show
If those Dasti or Talnoy are on that Continent, than we may see some action there, even if briefly.  Can you see a Saaur and Talony battle.  That would be cool.  BTW, I don't think Arutha will be back! :elf_dead:
